The bident serves as a symbol of Hades’ rulership over the realm of the dead. It is said to represent his ability to control both the spiritual and material worlds. The bident is a symbol of his power and authority in the underworld. Hades is often depicted carrying a bident, a two-pronged spear-like weapon. This time she hammed it up - you can hear it in her voice on the recording - and dancing a little jig around him. So the crowd stopped the show cold until they sang it again. The audience had heard all the other songs, but this one was new. He wanted simple and sang slow, she wanted fancy and sang bouncy. It was an argument song - they'd been sparring all night and now had different ideas about their wedding. Ridiculous, right? But Irving Berlin had written a new duet for her and her co-star, Bruce Yarnell, for the revival, and audiences loved it. It starred Ethel Merman, then 54 and still playing 16-year-old Annie Oakley. And once it's written in, the audience isn't stopping the show anymore the writers are.Īs I say, in decades of showgoing I've only ever seen one honest-to-god showstopping number - at a 1960s revival ofĪnnie Get Your Gun. But that's more a reprise than an encore. He did something similar in a lot of his shows, actually, adding extra choruses for songs the audience loved. Porter ended up writing her some more lyrics, so she could vary it a little. And remember, this was her first show, so when the audience made her sing it again - 11 times, by some reports - she must've just thought, "Well, this is how Broadway works." She sang it sweetly, like the ingenue she was then, but she also did a sort of mock strip-tease, dropping the shoulders of her fur coat, and the combination just brought the house down on opening night. ![]() Or Mary Martin singing a little Cole Porter ditty - "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" - in her first Broadway show. ![]() Real showstopping encores, where the audience takes control and won't let the show start up again until the actors sing the song a second time, I had read about, but they always seemed to be from some previous era: Ethel Merman holding the "I" in "I Got Rhythm" for 16 bars -ġ6! - and the audience making her sing it over and over, because they couldn't believe she'd done it. Really smart staging, but not a real showstopper. It was gonna happen even if nobody applauded. For her to be able to play this next scene, they had to dance all those waiters off the stage. And that's the moment when it's clear that the whole thing - all that saying "No," the watch-checking - was fake. Only this time, all those waiters dance off the stage and into the wings, leaving just her to play the next scene. Īnd they're off, Bailey whipping up a frenzy all over again. And the audience roars, because now it's clear that she's gonna do another chorus. But they're still cheering, so finally she walks to the side of the stage, kicks off her shoes, and hitches up her girdle. Then after a while, she looked down at the conductor - and he pointed to his watch and shook his head no. I remember Pearl Bailey really milking that applause, the crowd screaming "More!" and her grinning broadly but shaking her head no. All those waiters arrayed behind her, arms stretched high. There's a runway around the orchestra pit, and right at the climax of the song, she leads them in an arm-waving parade around it, close enough to touch. ![]() Hello, Dolly! Some are more sensitive, while others are more resistant to fire, even to the point of being enhanced by fire. Thus, the acceptability of an approach depends on the intended content, quality and detail of desired information.Ī second context is that responses are trends of individual ecological components. Often coincident with information specificity is increasing difficulty, cost, effort and modeled inference that can be accompanied by decreasing reliability or coverage. Constraints on such efforts depend upon objectives, which can vary from quite general and simple to very specific and complex (Table 1). The discussion is intended to be conceptual and apply generally across a broad spectrum of methodologies, recognizing that some approaches have unique properties or limitations that go beyond these considerations.īurn assessments have a basic goal to gather reliable site-specific information over at least significant portions of impacted areas. Since remote sensing is a primary means to collect information across large burned areas, a focus is on how factors influence those results and the ecological conclusions drawn from them. Such factors result from the ecological conditions and dynamics that arise following fire, which largely determine the limitations and appropriate uses of derived information. This paper concerns basic spatial and temporal factors that generally affect detection and definition of fire severity in a landscape context. Though commonly overlooked, such considerations determine the objectives and hypotheses that are appropriate for each application, and are especially important when building comparative studies or long-term reference databases on fire severity. Spatial and temporal conditions of sampling strategies constrain data quality and ecological information obtained about fire severity. Based on such implications, three sampling intervals for short-term burn severity are identified rapid, initial, and extended assessment, sampled within about two weeks, two months, and depending on the ecotype, from three months to one year after fire, respectively. Both responses can lead initially to either over- or underestimating severity. Both responses depend on fire behavior and various species-specific adaptations to fire that are unique to the pre-fire composition of each burned area. ![]() Conversely, delayed mortality increases the severity estimate when apparently healthy vegetation is in fact damaged by heat to the extent that it dies over time. Survivorship diminishes the detected magnitude of severity, as burned vegetation remains viable and resprouts, though at first it may appear completely charred or consumed above ground. Lag timing, or time since fire, notably shapes the ecological character of severity through first-order effects that only emerge with time after fire, including delayed survivorship and mortality. ![]() Thus, a need exists to supersede many rapid response applications when remote sensing conditions improve. Detection sensitivity can degrade toward the end of many fire seasons when low sun angles, vegetation senescence, incomplete burning, hazy conditions, or snow are common. Seasonal timing impacts the quality of radiometric data in terms of transmittance, sun angle, and potential contrast between responses within burns. As resolution decreases, alpha variation increases, extracting beta variation and complexity from the spatial model of the whole burn. Resolution determines the aggregation of effects within a sampling unit or pixel (alpha variation), hence limiting the discernible ecological responses, and controlling the spatial patchiness of responses distributed throughout a burn (beta variation). Ecological definition and detection of fire severity are influenced by factors of spatial resolution and timing. 1/21/2024 0 Comments Ummy video downloader old version![]() ![]() Latest Version Release Added On: 17th Jun 2020.Compatibility Architecture: 32 Bit (x86) / 64 Bit (圆4). ![]() Setup Type: Offline Installer / Full Standalone Setup.Setup File Name: Ummy_Video_Downloader_1.10.10.0.rar.Software Full Name: Ummy Video Downloader 2020.Ummy Video Downloader 2020 Technical Setup Details You can also download FlexiCam Netflix Video Downloader.īelow are some noticeable features which you’ll experience after Ummy Video Downloader 2020 free download. So Grier, what drew you to talk about this, these emotions? So today, we’re gonna be focusing on familial love and all the joys and heartaches that come with being a part of a family. So the purpose of this podcast is to explore those emotions, and the art that helps us understand and get through them. And, ‘Has anybody ever felt this bad before? How did they come out of this cloud?'” And so I really liked this quote, and the point that Hawke brings up about art articulating and making sense out of these huge emotions that sneak up on us in life.
